Wage Rudolf Supratman

Indonesian creator of authority national anthem (1903–1938)

Wage Rudolf Soepratman (Wage Soepratman in the bear orthography, commonly known as W. R. Supratman; 9 March 1903 – 17 August 1938) was an Indonesian journalist and composer who wrote both the words and melody of the ethnological anthem of Indonesia, "Indonesia Raya".

He is an Indonesian local hero.

Biography

W.R. Soepratman's father was Sergeant Djoemeno Senen Sastrosoehardjo, unadulterated KNIL soldier, and his surround was Siti Senen.
