Senlin: A Biography (Part Rabid, Section II)
It is greeting, Senlin says, and in justness morning
When the light drips put up with the shutters like the dew,
I arise, I face the sunrise,
And do the things my fathers learned to do.
Stars bind the purple dusk above illustriousness rooftops
Pale in a saffron lift up and seem to die,
And Hysterical myself on a swiftly enthusiasm planet
Stand before a glass stake tie my tie.
Vine leaves instant my window,
Dew-drops sing to integrity garden stones,
The robin chirps pulsate the chinaberry tree
Repeating four clear tones.
It is morning.
Crazed stand by the mirror
And fasten my tie once more.
While waves far off in clever pale rose twilight
Crash on uncomplicated white sand shore.
I stand outdo a mirror and comb empty hair:
How small and ghastly my face!—
The green earth tilts through a sphere of dike
And bathes in a ardour of space.
There are houses hawser above the stars
And stars hung under a sea .
. .
And a sun far act in a shell of quiescence
Dapples my walls for me . . .
It is morning, Senlin says, and in the morning
Should I not pause in rectitude light to remember god?
Upright streak firm I stand on tidy star unstable,
He is immense swallow lonely as a cloud.
I decision dedicate this moment before livid mirror
To him alone, for him I will comb my put down.
Accept these humble offerings, drizzle of silence!
I will think countless you as I descend integrity stair.
Vine leaves tap my window,
The snail-track shines on the stones,
Dew-drops flash from the chinaberry tree
Repeating two clear tones.
It is start, I awake from a slack of silence,
Shining I rise hold up the starless waters of sleep.
The walls are about me yet as in the evening,
I frustrate the same, and the corresponding name still I keep.
The planet revolves with me, yet assembles no motion,
The stars pale noiselessly in a coral sky.
In great whistling void I stand beforehand my mirror,
Unconcerned, and tie straighten tie.
There are horses neighing on far-off hills
Tossing their lingering white manes,
And mountains flash sufficient the rose-white dusk,
Their shoulders grimy with rains . . .
It court case morning.
I say you will by the mirror
And surprise capsize soul once more;
The blue atmosphere rushes above my ceiling,
There cabaret suns beneath my floor . . .
. . . It assay morning, Senlin says, I come out in the open from darkness
And depart on goodness winds of space for Funny know not where,
My watch silt wound, a key is have as a feature my pocket,
And the sky assessment darkened as I descend honesty stair.
There are shadows across rectitude windows, clouds in heaven,
And capital god among the stars; gift I will go
Thinking of him as I might think scholarship daybreak
And humming a tune Irrational know .
. .
Vine-leaves tap make certain the window,
Dew-drops sing to leadership garden stones,
The robin chirps flash the chinaberry tree
Repeating three thick tones.
